Single screw keeps the two halves together. If you pull the cable at a right angle to the hole from which the cable emerges from the reel, it will spin the front half. The single screw is too weak. The cable is very strong and would probably outlast 100 of the string reels, but unfortunately I have to replace this item frequently due to the poor housing design.
